Dr. Melissa Arce, PsyD

To each client and session, my goal is to focus on building trust and authenticity in the room. My clients would describe me as warm, empathic, and genuine. Additionally, I use a strengths-based and relationship-oriented approach. I consistently work to pull my client’s strengths into the room, validate my client’s experiences, and create transparency in the therapeutic process.

From this foundation, I use an integrative approach. Because I firmly believe that what each person brings into the room is so unique, I do not believe that there is any single type of therapy that can be most effective for all. Thus, I frequently pull techniques from Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Acceptance and Commitment Therapy, Emotion Focused Therapy, and Psychodynamic Therapy, depending on what will be most helpful to the client sitting in front of me. For example, we may focus on learning relaxation techniques, methods of reframing unhelpful thoughts, exploring your values system and living aligned with your values, or learn how our early attachments affect us as adults. I actively work together with my clients to find what works best for them and their unique situation. I find that this integrative, client-centered approach helps my clients to be control of their treatment and makes them more likely to carry the skills, progress, and newly discovered strengths with them after our work together has ended.

I specialize in working with adults in an individual setting in both short- and long-term psychotherapy, particularly with issues related to anxiety, life changes, depression, and stress. I provide in-person and telehealth counseling. My ideal client is someone who has a general sense of how they’d like to use the therapeutic space, and who is motivated to reach their goals, even if they aren’t quite sure what they are yet.

I am currently accepting new clients to schedule beginning August 15, 2025. Please reach out by phone, email, or the link below to schedule a free call.
